I turned 20 on the 27th of January. I am not entirely sure how that happened because it seems only five minutes ago that I was turning 16 and getting ready for my GCSE's. I used to be so scared of growing up, I think that's fairly normal but now I am really excited, and I'm very much looking forward to the future.
So it's true, I am a year older and I'm hoping also a year wiser. I feel very grown up to not be anything 'teen' anymore. This year has been rather crazy, I've gone from spending my days in school, coming home and vegging out on the sofa in the evenings...to being on my gap year, learning to drive, volunteering as a teaching assistant, applying for university and having a part time job. Woah.
This time last year I honestly couldn't see all of that happening, ever. And now I'm living it, I'm loving it. I'm absolutely loving driving, I've met the most wonderful people at work and had some very lovely memories with them, I adore being a teaching assistant and I'm very excited about training to be a teacher in September.
25th January 2015:
I went to a Chinese restaurant with my best friends from work, Its the first time I've eaten in as we normally get take away's from there, & it was sooo lovely. I think I've eaten enough vegetable chow mein and egg fried rice to last me a few months but my god it was good!
One of my lovely best friends made me some (chocolate orange) cupcakes, and oh. my. god. they are incredible. We went for some drinkies afterwards and it was a loveeely evening!
27th January 2015:
I was woken up by my lovely mum shaking me shouting YOU'RE 20 WAKE UP! We had a lovely morning, complete with coco pops (very grown up I know) cards and presents, I was well and truly spoilt and recieved a Breville blender to make smoothies, a juice and smoothie book, a skirt, necklace fairy lights, some bits and bobs for my bedroom and the Radio 1 LiveLounge CD. She also made me the loveliest cake and I had a giant balloon and badge.
When mum went to work I went to Costa and got me and one of my lovely best friends a drink and we spent the morning together and she also gave me some lovely presents (I'm so lucky I know hehe)
When mum came home we went out for a meal which was delicious. I had a margherita pizza flat bread and we shared some cajun spiced potato skin wedges, we also had birthday cake when we got home hehe. It was the girl who served us birthday as well which was funny. I am so so lucky to have the loveliest friends and family & I had a great day. Thank you to all those who left me messages on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram I'm so grateful x x
29th January 2015:
Me and my lovely friend Becca decided what better excuse to eat loads of pizza and go shopping and watch films is there than a birthday? So that's precisely what we did. We went into town, we bought smoothies from Fuel (a new juice bar near us) went shopping, bought Dominos then went back to hers to watch pretty little liars whilst eating pizza and snuggling her gorgeous doggy max. (who tried to kick me out of bed) - those days are my favourite, just spending time with your best friends is so important.
31st January/ 1st February:
As you can tell I like to spread my birthday celebrations out over a week or so ;) you only have one a year so why not! And I was uber poorly over Christmas and new year so I pretty much slept through it, so it's nice to be in the mood to celebrate! I spent this weekend with my family, we went to a lovely pub for lunch and then onto a beach for a walk, the beach was so windy we could barely stand up and couldn't stay for long but it made for some very funny photos.
Lots of Love
