I am absolutely loving my new speakers and headphones! The speakers are BlueTooth so you can connect your iPhone/iPod/iPad to it easily. They are also compact and they fold out so they're portable and easy to store, the whole of the front of the speakers is the speaker as opposed to the speaker being framed with plastic which I think looks really lovely. The quality is amazing! You control the volume on your device and also change the song on there too. The speakers are rechargeable and you charge them in exactly the same way you do your iPhone etc.
The headphones are also brilliant. I don't own any headphones, only earphones. I've loved the style of them since the beat ones came out but I cannot justify spending over £200 on headphones no matter how good they are! But these are so so good! The sound is very clear and the headphones themselves are adjustable, My favourite aspect of them is that the cord is like material as opposed to plastics covering the wire, therefore it wont split and have bits of the wire sticking out! They come in several colours so definitely check out the website for more details!
Thank you so much Nusound, i really appreciate being able to work with you.
As part of this collaboration I’m going to be having a bit of a reflection and sharing with you my favourite songs of 2014, I've been doing my research so let’s begin!
1. January- Now I think it would be near impossible to mention my favourite songs of 2014 without mentioning 'Happy' by Pharrell Williams. This was number one in January after being released in June 2013. This song holds a lot of happy memories for me, the film despicable me is a favourite and I think that when it comes on you automatically want to dance. It always comes on when my friends and I are having a night out and it makes everyone smile!
2. February- (I’m going to do it I’m sorry) I watched frozen for the first time in February, and I quickly became my favourite Disney film, alongside Peter Pan and Tangled. I am a sucker for soppy musical Disney films and this did not disappoint. ‘Let it Go’ is my favourite of the lot. I love Demi Lovato’s version but Idina Menzel sings it amazingly and I can’t get enough of it! – Yes I know all the words to every frozen song. Yep.
3. March- Now, in March I went to see Bastille live and it was INCREDIBLE. For the week building up to it and the weeks afterwards all I listened to was my bastille album, which is still always on! I think my favourite track from the album is Pompeii shortly followed by Flaws and 'Things We Lost In The Fire'. To be honest I absolutely love the whole album but they are my particular favourites, The first song I ever heard of Bastille was ‘Flaws’ so that will always be a favourite.
4. April- I think my favourite song of April was, ''Will-i-Am Ft Miley Cyrus & Wiz Khalifa- Feelin’ Myself'. I love love love this song! It’s perfect on a night out when you’re all up dancing and it’s a very feel good song!
5. May- My favourite of this month would have to be ‘Robin Thicke ft. Pharrell – Blurred lines’ This song honestly just makes me so happy, whenever it came on the radio I would get up and dance, and sing along. If you say that you don’t have a little jiggle to this song you’re lying ;)
6. June- ‘Sam Smith Stay with Me’ this song is so beautiful, I feel like all of my songs so far have been happy get up and dance songs, oops. But Stay with me is such a beautiful, lovely song, I had it on repeat and it is still a favourite. I find Sam Smith sings his songs so effortlessly and makes it look so easy. There’s nothing crazy about him he just gets up and sings and I love that.
7. July- 'Ed Sheeran Sing', I’ve always been an Ed Sheeran fan, right from the beginning but is it me or is he just getting better and better with every single song?! He is INCREDIBLE, I love his music and I think he seems like such a lovely genuine guy. My favourite song from his album ‘X’ is Runaway, it’s so catchy but it’ lovely. I do love the whole album though so if you haven’t heard it I definitely recommend it, it’s very different to his first album but in my opinion its better!
8. August – 'Ghost' by Ella Henderson is such a beautiful song, her voice is insanely powerful and her incredible talent makes this song all the more lovely.
9. September- I found a cover of the 1975 song ‘Chocolate’ on YouTube by Lilly Ahlberg and I couldn’t stop listening to it, All of this girls covers are incredible but I am in love with her cover of chocolate.
10. October- Sia ‘Chandelier’ I've loved this song for a long time, ever since the first time I heard it, and since seeing the video I love it even more! The Video of Maddie Ziegler is incredible and it makes me very jealous that I can’t dance like that.
11. November – Now I’m a bit of a secret One direction fan. I’m not a crazy fan girl I cannot be dealing with all the screaming and crying over bands. But I do have a secret love for 1D (not sorry) and the song ‘Steal my girl’ that came out in November was SO good! I’d also like to mention George Ezra Budapest from this month, an absolutely beautiful song!
12. December- apart from the usual ‘all I want for Christmas is you’ and ‘jingle bell rock’ my favourite song from December would have to be ‘Fight song’ By Rachel platten, I actually first heard this song on an episode of Pretty Little liars – my favourite programme ever, and the song on this particular episode stood out to me so I had a listen and I haven’t stopped listening! For Christmas I got Taylor Swfits album, I’ve always been a bit on the fence with taylor swift because her personality annoys me so much but I’ve always really liked her songs! I listen to the album so much and I love it, my favourite is ‘Out of the Woods’.
Controversial: I wanted to mention this because I know it’s been in the media a lot, when ‘All about that Base’ came out by Meghan Trainor I admit, I really liked it. I had it on all the time dancing around and singing all the words. At first I thought it was about body confidence, I thought great! Finally someone’s making a song about feeling good in your own skin and it doesn’t matter what size or shape you are! HOWEVER, that’s not the message in the song at all! The song is giving across the message that if you’re bigger and curvier that you will be more attractive and that you shouldn’t be skinny, “You know I won't be no stick-figure, silicone Barbie doll”. After this I stopped enjoying the song, purely for the fact the meaning changed for me, it felt like she was just shaming skinny girls rather than embracing any body shape. Her interview reinforced my view of her, where she claims to have ‘tried to be anorexic for three hours and not being strong enough to have an eating disorder’. Negativity aside, there has been a lot of very good music out recently! My ears have been impressed:)
Lots of love, Evie xxx
